Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, "Marubeni") has launched "Omakase(*1) EV for Biz" (hereinafter, the "Service"), a fleet management web service that optimizes the timing of dispatching and charging electric vehicles (hereinafter, "EV”s) owned by corporations.

While EVs are becoming more and more popular in the corporate sector as a way to reduce environmental impacts, their usage rate is not increasing due to the time and effort required to plan the dispatch of vehicles, taking into account the recharging time after use, and due to the uncertainty of the remaining recharging capacity.

This Service is designed for corporations that own EVs, utilizing AI developed by Marubeni to optimize the dispatch of vehicles by taking into account the remaining battery status, CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of each vehicle, providing a dispatch plan that minimizes CO2 emissions and fuel costs. In addition, for corporations considering the introduction of new EVs, the "EV Introduction Effect Calculation Service" will be rolled out at the same time, using AI to analyze past vehicle usage results and propose the optimal number of EVs and chargers.

In preparation for the provision of this Service, we have conducted demonstration tests with the cooperation of municipalities and corporations that own EVs, and have confirmed the benefits of increased EV utilization, reduced CO2 emissions and lower fuel costs.

Through this Service, Marubeni will promote the efficient use of EVs by corporations and contribute to the government's recommendation of Zero-Carbon Drives(*2) at business locations and the realization of a decarbonized society.

(*1) Omakase: In this case means “Offering the best choice depending on your needs.”
(*2) Zero-Carbon Drives: EVs, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCVs) using electricity generated from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power (renewable electricity) thus creating zero CO2 emissions when driving.
