Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) and DOLBIX CONSULTING Inc. (hereinafter, “DOLBIX”),　a wholly owned Marubeni subsidiary, have participated in the “Sustainable Development Goals where Quantum Technology can Contribute” (SDQs*1) initiative, hosted by QunaSys Inc. (hereinafter, “QunaSys”), which aims to utilize quantum technology for the purpose of solving societal issues.

The potential for quantum technology to dramatically improve computing power and sensing*2 accuracy is currently topical, with anticipation around its applications in industry. As part of the SDQs initiative, Marubeni and DOLBIX will investigate specific applications of quantum technology in industry as well as quantifying the economic impacts of these applications. This will be undertaken from the perspective of contributing to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), and will facilitate the two companies in creating an environment that makes it easier for industry to engage in quantum technology initiatives in various fields and actively expedite the development of quantum technology.

Marubeni, as a general trading company with business bases in various industries, has participated in the SDQs initiative with a view to contributing to solving societal issues using quantum technology. Through these activities, the company will determine the areas where there is potential for quantum technology to be applied, as well as its economic value. Marubeni thus aims to create new value through the application of quantum technology, with a particular focus on the manufacturing and healthcare fields, from among the industries in which Marubeni has a client base.

DOLBIX participated in the SDQs initiative as part of its DX consulting to contribute to the promotion of DX utilizing quantum technology and, through this, to innovations in social infrastructure. Another focus for DOLBIX is providing services, including consulting, related to Sustainability Transformation*3 and they will actively seek to improve the value it provides to clients by utilizing the knowledge gained through SDQs activities.
