Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) and U.S.-based company Enlitic, Inc. (hereinafter, “Enlitic”) have signed an exclusive sales agreement (hereinafter, the “Agreement”) covering Japan and the APAC market for Curie|ENCOG™ and Curie|ENDEX™, which are technical systems to enable the anonymization, organization, and standardization of medical images using artificial intelligence (hereinafter, “both Products”), developed by Enlitic.

Enlitic is a U.S.-based company that develops medical imaging data management solutions using AI. Marubeni already provides a dedicated chest X-ray medical imaging diagnostic support system, developed by Enlitic, through Konica Minolta. Through this agreement, Marubeni has acquired exclusive marketing rights for both Products in the Japanese and APAC markets. Clairvo Technologies Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marubeni, will act as the sales agent for the Japanese market.

Medical images, such as those from X-rays, CT, and MRI scans, are used in various situations, including disease diagnosis, decisions on courses of treatment, and post-operative follow-up. The number of medical images taken increases in step with enhanced health consciousness among the public, as well as technological innovations in the equipment used to take these images. This in turn increases burdens on the medical professionals making diagnoses, which has become one of the challenges in promoting workstyle reforms for physicians. There is an urgent need to utilize digital technology to improve the collaboration of medical services towards addressing this problem.

Curie|ENDEX™ improves the searchability of medical images and shortens the reporting time of radiologists by adding uniform standardized labels that conform to clinical information associated with medical images. 

Curie|ENCOG™ is suitable for applications to protect personal health information (PHI), which is essential for medical collaboration. It is a system that anonymizes PHI included in and attached to medical images to facilitate the delivery of medical images outside hospitals and contribute to the promotion of medical collaboration.

Curie|ENDEX™ is already on the market in Europe and the United States, where they are being used to support medical institutions and physicians in various countries.

Marubeni will continue to contribute to resolving issues in Japan and to APAC-market medical care through providing excellent products that support medical sites.
