Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) has concluded an agreement with the local authorities in Aichi Prefecture to co-support the overseas business expansion of companies in Aichi Prefecture. Aichi Prefecture and Marubeni will hold a signing ceremony for the relevant agreement (hereinafter, the “Agreement”) on June 13, 2023.

The Agreement is intended to provide local companies in Aichi Prefecture with an incentive* when they move into premises in MM2100 Industrial Town in Bekasi Prefecture, Indonesia, an industrial park operated by Marubeni. Marubeni will also provide support for the overseas business expansion of participating companies in the form of seminars and consultation about industrial parks in Asia in which Marubeni is involved. This is the first time that Marubeni has concluded an agreement with Japanese prefectural authorities on providing incentives and support relating to overseas industrial parks.

Marubeni has to date developed and operated industrial parks in six countries. The first such undertaking was Lat Krabang Industrial Estate in Thailand in the 1980s, and this was followed by projects in Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and elsewhere. Marubeni will contribute to the overseas business expansion of Aichi companies and development of economies and industry in Asia by leveraging its abundant know-how, experience, and networks for the development and operation of industrial parks in Asia, a region in which growth in both consumption and investment is forecast.
