Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”), as a member of the group represented by Tokyu Corporation (hereinafter, “the Group”), jointly established Kawasaki Todoroki Park Corporation (hereinafter, “Kawasaki Todoroki Park”) and has entered into a Project Agreement (hereinafter, “the Agreement”) with Kawasaki City on March 31, 2023 in accordance with the public solicitation process for the “Redevelopment and Operation of Todoroki Ryokuchi” (hereinafter, “the Project”) announced by Kawasaki City in April 2022. Based on the Agreement, Kawasaki Todoroki Park started operation and maintenance etc. of Todoroki Ryokuchi on April 1, 2023.

The project will be implemented in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) as an integrated project that includes the redevelopment of Todoroki Ryokuchi and its operation and maintenance in order to realize the “future vision for the new Todoroki Ryokuchi” shown in the “Implementation Plan for Redevelopment of Todoroki Ryokuchi” formulated and revised by Kawasaki City in February 2022.
Kawasaki Todoroki Park will be responsible for the operation of Todoroki Ryokuchi and will simultaneously undertake the park’s redevelopment, including the conversion of the Todoroki Track & Field Stadium into a dedicated ball game stadium and the reconstruction of the Todoroki Arena.

Marubeni will contribute to the Project by utilizing its global network for content attraction, providing the know-how and other resources it has cultivated in the infrastructure business, and leveraging its broad business domain as a general trading company.
