Marubeni will integrate its seafood trading operations into its subsidiary Benirei Corporation (hereinafter, “Benirei”) from April 1, 2024 with the aim of further strengthening the Marubeni Group’s seafoods business. Furthermore, the subsidiary’s trade name will be changed to “Marubeni Seafoods Corporation” as of July 1, 2024.

Benirei, which primarily focuses on seafoods wholesale, has been providing a stable supply of seafoods across Japan by acquiring its products from all over the world as well as planning products in line with market needs. The Marubeni Group will further expand its businesses by integrating the seafoods trading know-how and the resources Marubeni has cultivated to date into Benirei, including for in-house import and export functions, which will enable Benirei to respond quickly and flexibly to market needs.
