This is Kodomo no Hiroba (“Kid’s Plaza”) Agape House in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. It is engaged in activities for the support of local children, which includes operating a kodomo shokudo (“children‘s cafeteria”; a facility where children can eat for free or at a reduced price together with local community members) and providing learning support. This is but one example of the various initiatives for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities being implemented throughout Japan.
The Marubeni Foundation was created to uphold a society whose members mutually support one another to ensure that everyone can live their best lives. With funding from donations from Marubeni Group employees and related parties, the Marubeni Foundation continues to provide annual grants to facilities and organizations involved in social welfare activities. More than 2,800 such grants have been awarded in the 50 years since its establishment in 1974. The Marubeni Foundation will continue to expand the reach of a society that esteems individual human connections and where people care for and mutually support one another.
