Japan Atomic Power Company (“JAPC”) and Marubeni Utility Services, Ltd. (“MUS”) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with National Atomic Company “Kazatomprom” Joint Stock Company with regard to cooperation in the field of nuclear power on October 27, 2015.

 

The MOU was concluded based on an agreement reached between the Japanese Government and the Kazakhstani Government on the same day to set up cooperation in constructing a nuclear power plant project in Kazakhstan.

 

On the basis of the MOU, JAPC and MUS will conduct consultations on planning nuclear power plant construction in the Republic of Kazakhstan and establishing an effective financial scheme, and develop human resources.
